A whole person approach

Merrissa looks at the full picture: your mood, sleep, stress, relationships, health and goals. She pairs proven treatments with a plan made for you, and she explains each option in plain language so you can choose what feels right.

Her style is warm, open minded and empowering. The name of the practice says it well: your mind, your voice, your Oaysis. You have a say in every decision about your care.

Experience and training

Merrissa has 12 years of nursing experience, including acute care, and now focuses on psychiatric care for adults. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Valparaiso University and her Master of Science in Nursing at Northern Kentucky University. She is a Chicago native.

Why she chose psychiatric care

I chose psychiatric care because I am passionate about helping destigmatize mental health and creating a space where people feel seen, heard, and supported. Throughout my career, I have cared for individuals facing mental health challenges, while also witnessing people close to me navigate their own mental health journeys. These experiences deepened my compassion and inspired me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others through accessible, supportive, and compassionate mental health care.
